Question of the day!

As asked by popular wedding planner, Funke Bucknor. At the Obasanjo and Adebutu wedding in Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday, she was almost mobbed by guests demanding to get a share of the souvenir made available at the party. LIB readers, is it a do or die affair? Especially after buying Aso-ebi?

Why sharing to others in d first place if u know d souvenirs won't go round then don't share at all u event planners always share among ur friends but those dat really need it u don't give them.

Why hustle for most of this worthless CHINA products been shared in most Naija wedding as souvenir.
How many of this SOUVENIR has last you for at least 5 year to make you remember that event you attended.

Abeg, give it to those that deserve it. It has been the norm in this country.

I'm supposed to understand that since its Obasanjo's son, its Elites and probably comfortable or wealthy individuals that attended the wedding. SO WHY WILL ELITES BE HUSTLING FOR SOUVENIR? IF HE NO REACH, GO HOUSE!!! #SIMPLE!!!!

most aso ebis are bought from wholesale traders but brides sell it with huge profits cos ur friends will buy it anyhow from u to show solidarity and their love towards ur wedding..its diff from owning a textile fabric shop dat ppl can say ds is too pricey I will go to anoda..Irrespective of d price dey will buy..
Now brides dat usually dont do bizz use ds opportunity and make money lets be honest some of us are guilty...You should expect to compensate by getting souvenirs to ur friends for even coming to d wedding some even travel long distances and risk their lives on d road..Its better u dont do souvenir at all dan hearing its finished..u will even see d person sharing with squeezed faces and attitude and looking at known faces before sharing..All ds pisses me off..
Yes food is a do or die affair its bad manners to invite ppl and not serve dem!!!
Cut ur coat according to ur size..u rent a hall 1.5M den u pay caterer 200k to cater for ova 500guests just cos u want flashy wedding!!rather dan getting a sec school field nice canopies and decoration which costs like 100k or so den make food available for ppl...
some even know dia husbands budget yet cos everyone changes cloth at d reception dey want to be among den dey buy second gown worth ova 100k dat dey wunt wear again wen u can even rent d initial gown and wear for reception dat will be ova in a few hours..

so whenif I go for weddings dat food finishes middway and souvenir is strictly coded I smh for poor planning and wrong prioritising...

I attended a frnd wedding on Saturday. The Aso ebi was 15k, but we all knew that fabric sold for about 8,500. We all still bought. Then at the end of the day you say no souvenir, I won't struggle for it, but, I'll be upset. Times are not exactly easy right now, so if i sacrifice to buy an aso ebi, you should at least give something to say tnx. This gifts are supposed to come with aso ebi in a branded carrier bag, but now you buy an expensive aso ebi, they expect you to come and drag for gift item at the reception. I won't do it. But it's not fair.
