"No policeman should extort or arrest you for having a car with tinted windows" - Lagos PPRO, Dolapo Badmus

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 command, Adamu Ibrahim, MNI, has directed that police officers to stop arresting people for using vehicles with tinted glass.

Zonal Police P.R.O, SP Dolapo Badmus relayed this message while speaking with LIB, saying that no police officer has the right to arrest anyone for using tinted glasses and they have been asked to stop demanding for renewal of tinted permit. She however advised the public to get their tinted glass permit which is non renewable. Watch the full interview after the cut...

You guys have the right to complain and be angry with the Police. My candid advice to you all is to be civil and gentle when accosted. If after that the Police still prove stubborn, instead of fighting him thereby you giving humor her an edge over you, simply tell the officer to take you to the Police station. Do this and see what follows. Just an advice borne out of experience. Thanks.

They stopped my husband around computer village, the roundabout that links to agege motor ways and collected 3,000 from him. Meanwhile we have all the vehicle papers intact even the tinted permit we have the old one that hasn't expired. Why not create awareness for people to know there is a new one? We are processing the new one now and I learnt it takes time. Please we need a number we can call in case they stop us next time.

What are you guys doing with tinted cars as if you all wanted kidnappers?
Forget all the these sentimental counterproductive orders until you are kidnapped and the greedy police officer won't know when you're been hauled off to unknown destination inside a tinted car or the kidnappers moving freelyinside the tinted car!
Nigeria we hail thee!

All these same old story by top officers about the activities of their men which they hear and don't do anything about it. Let the change begin with them. Disguise and drive to these areas, catch them and dismiss a few if they will not stop the harassment.enough of all the Media show, take action abeg

Adeeko said...

Look at road safety too, official fee for linsence is 6100 and yet you pay 22000 to get it in one week but pay the normal fee and get it in two years.this is the real rot we are talking about. It's systemic and it has become a norm

But tinted glass is a security threat. I urge u sir to Educate the Masses to go for their permit and also warn those with artificial tinted glass to remove them immidetly. Good bless u my PRO.

Fact!!! Police are always frustrated when they see any young fello doing good, especially when your ride is a bit expensive than what they ever imagine... The words ain't enough madam, we need a mail or support centre we can easily call when harassed by any police officer. I guess this will make them sit up.

SARS SARS SARS , I never want to meet with them.
