Good to learn. So after much heated debate in the sixth assembly the eighth assembly finally passed the most debated bill ever after FOI (freedom of information) bill in the land.
Now local contents will have a more critical role to play in the advancement of the downstream oil sector.

This is not the long awaited PIB. This is the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) which only deals with cosmetic reorganization of the sector. The real issues (fiscal, government profits, petroleum taxes, host community fund etc.) that matter to the Nigerian economy are not included in this bill.
It is just a political gimmick. They have avoided the main financial issues that need to be resolved.

Nonsense, Linda don't be ignorant. What they passed is a highly adulterated version of the original bill, after much watering down. Also they broke the original bill into 3 parts and passed only one part.
You are a blogger, at least do a little investigative blogging. Go and read the original PIB Bill. And why are they renaming it into Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) instead? Let's not celebrate fraud please. These people only protect their own interests and not that of the nation. Mo'fuckers never loved us!

The Petroleum Governance bill is one out of the four bills that will make up the Petroleum Industry Bill. We still have the Gas bill, Oil bill and the Fiscal bill pending. The Governance bill is addresses the Institutional functions of the agencies in the Petroleum industry.
