We've found the toddler tree school!

Having a baby has been the most magical experience for me. But soon after the magic comes the responsibility! It's dawned on me that God has deemed me fit to ensure that this child becomes ‘salt’ of the Earth. Now my husband and I are particular about the way we want to raise our jewel up to be just this, especially with all the lurking ills of our current world.
It is now very apparent that we are definitely not going to be the only people raising up our child, because in a few months, our little angel will have to go to school. But who can I trust to preserve and build on the work I’ve already begun?Which school shares my passion for life, love and learning? So my search began... and it led me to The Toddler Tree Nursery School!

Being believers in the Montessori Method of Education, I came across many schools with ‘Montessori’ emblazoned all over their school boards, went inside and wasn’t too impressed. Feeling like my options were fast running out, I stumbled upon this hidden treasure…. literally at a little corner in Ikeja GRA-The Toddler Tree. From the outside, it looked like some little international corporate organisation, with a well-kept line of palm trees lining its red brick wall. When I studied the big round logo, my interest heightened and so I went in to make some enquiries. I was immediately greeted by the pristine environment, lush green grass, well tendered plants. And just before looking to the other side, I saw the shimmering, clear blue water of a cute little swimming pool right at the corner of the cutest playground ever. I was impressed with this beauty, and I wondered to myself ‘Who would’ve thought....’

After a clearance procedure with the security, I was able to meet with the head of school, Ms. Kemi. She was awfully pleasant and offered to give me a quick tour of the school’s facilities which I appreciated as this was not a planned visit. The classroom was so pretty and clean, and looked like a lot of heart and thought had been put into it. But what really won me over was when talking about the principles of her school, she said, “Good academics is just the tip of the iceberg – at The Toddler Tree, we aim to educate the entire child. From diction to comportment, culture to creativity, music or science. Everything we do is specially designed to ensure children have a solid learning foundation, develop skills for future life success, optimise their gifts and develop into happy independent productive members of today’s global village.”

It seems to me that my search is over now. Plus I've done my 'private investigations' and heard great stuff from other parents about the nursery. I’m looking forward to partnering with this school in teaching and raising up my little sugar plum. I know I’ve still got a few more months to go, but at least I know where I’ll be marching to once my daughter hits 18 months! I’m so excited!!!

Wow.....i love this. It's so great to see that there are still true Montessori schools in Lagos. Before now I could only vouch for Aquila Nidus Montessori school Gbagada and Discovery House Lekki.
Well done Ms Kemi

I heard about the school when I was preggers in 2013. I wanted to enroll my daughter, but they said they didn't have a school bus to drop off my girl at egbeda. I would still recommend it to friends living within GRA or shonibare estates only.

Nice... I'll check it out for my niece and friends' kids that stay in ikeja. I know that the teachers there undergo intense montessori training there...

It's one of the most spacious nursery schools in the whole of Lagos. Did you see the size of the classroom in the picture? The pic is real - I've been there.
