Weird MC: The cash reward for Big Brother Naija is for what? Guzzling alcohol, partying and bathing naked for the whole world to see

Nigerian rapper, Weird MC has taken a shot at the recently concluded Big Brother Naija reality show, while celebrating the UBA security officer who was rewarded for returning an envelope that contained $10,000, belonging to a customer. Read below:

HE RETURNED 10,000 DOLLARS

Last year July, a security man attached to UBA , Oba Akran Branch Ikeja Lagos did the unthinkable. He returned an opened envelope a customer lost in the bank that contained 10, 000 US dollars (about 3.5 million naira by then). His monthly salary was below 40, 000 naira. Some Nigerians then especially the youths mocked him on the Internet by insisting that he was not a normal Nigerian. Some said that his village gods made him not to take the money. Most interesting was those that he insisted that he will die poor. The man's name is Ibrahim Mohammed Ogbanago. Yesterday at UBA BANK annual general meeting, heaven opened for him. Though the bank refused to announce how much they gave him, two governors gave him total of 15, 000 dollars and the Senate will honour him physically on Tuesday with an award and 5 million naira. Some Nigerians tonight and afterwards will celebrate the winner of Big Brother Africa that will go home with 25 million. But the cash reward for BBN is for what? Ibrahim got his reward for hard work, honesty and integrity not by being indoors guzzling alcohol, partying, smoking or bathing naked for the world to see. I celebrate Ibrahim and urge Nigerians to know that honesty and integrity can be rewarded. We must shun all short cuts to wealth. Be contended but work hard."

I didn't know Wired MC is still in this Country. What's she ranting@. BBN wasn't just all about bathing naked, drinking alcohol eating and smoking. It was a game well played that brought out some talented individuals and the show entertained alot of Africans. We Look forward to the next edition of it. Wired MC next time please close your eyes if you don't want to watch.

Weird MC Ibrahim got his reward for hardwork while BBN winner got his for Entertainment.Granted there may be some downsides to BBN but you can't rule out the fact that it entertained Nigerians and helped us forget our sorrows as a nation. If entertainment is all bad, then I guess you too deserve not to be celebrated.
BBN has given the likes of Bisola, Debby Rise, TTT metal the opportunity to showcase their talent to the world. These are people who until now were never known yet they have the talent to move mountains. This goes to show that platform is very important and every state can organize something like this to fish for talent, many Nigerians will be uplifted from their penury state and join hands to build a nation full of known talents and potentials

BBN is a business not a hardwork compensator. As such the reward given to the winners isn't completely for free. BBN got their profit from the votes of Nigerians, Nigerians in return got entertainment. No amount is too much for entertainment if you care so much about your happiness.

So Madam, as long as its not your money, allow business men to thrive.Hardwork are being rewarded daily even in offices.
I expected an outburst from you about these politicians that sleep while session is ongoing, yet collect their allowance and salary. Are they being paid for sleeping? Until you can answer this, I rest my case.

The #25m was for entertaining Nigerians. All work and no play makes one dull pls. I have learnt a lot especially in the kitchen department from the just concluded bbn. There were some cooking techniques and food presentation ideas I got. Their tasking etc were all entertaining to me biko. So it wasn't all about the drinking and partying..

Long live LIB

Weird MC is to an extent right. I pray the youths of this country can galvanize themselves they way they did for bigrother Efe to vote without concern for tribe or monetary favours for a youth like Efe. One who is humble, has integrity and can move this country on. Its only when this can be achieved can reality shows like big brother have fulfilled its cause in a country like Nigeria. Big brother has shown that the youths can change this country using the social media. Weird MC you may step out. Lets give you the "big brother" treatment.

Let's not criticize Weird MC yet. What is happening in this country is really serious. Our parents have mortgaged our future. The future of the Nigerian youth is weak. Big brother is very normal in developed countries but Nigeria has a lot of issues to contend with,The youths of this country have to take their destiny in their own hands and vote out miscreants in governmnet. If they can do it for Efe of Big brother, they can do it for any good politician; Let's rise up against these miscreants in government that have nothing to offer us for years.

She made no sense to you because your rational mind deserted you the time you were reading the post. You just don't want to accept the truth in what she points out all because you spent your wasted hour defending one so called boss nation. You tell us, what is BBN for you? What was the benefit and rationale for it? Oh I forgot it was the chance you had looking at TBoss pierced boobs right?

Anonymous said...

Well that is her point. Being entertained by absolute nonsense when there are serious things to do. Same idiot Nigerians are there complaining about unemployment, difficulties, etc but know how to waste time, data on nonsense like people bathing naked, alcohol. And besides, Bisola didn't suck penis. All fake from Linda's news.

Anonymous said...

Is that what you call entertainment? Serious people won't glue themselves to their screens watching BBN if they knew their focus. What was the talent opportunity BBN gave to the guys in the show? Tell us, what was the talent of TBoss, Efe, Kemen? What talent did they showcase? BBN didn't make Nigérians forget their sorrows my dear, it brought out the unseriousness in them and showed how they lack focus. Spent their data watching something with no absolute rationalistic meaning, wasting money to vote nonsense instead of driving the energy and resources to meaningful and more beneficial things.

1. You're a free moral agent and you're free to make your choice to either watch or not watch any programme that either contradicts your values and believe or approves it.

2. Your views or standpoint on issues may differ but truth at all times must be said; what value have the show added to you and I and the many who watched it? You may call it entertainment but its not please. Even those who watch porn movies don't watch to be entertained but to derive pleasures and sexual excitement.

3. What is bad is bad! President Trump said he doesn't believe Climate Change exist but truth be said, it sure exist. I was born in the 70s and have travelled to places. For God's sake, between the 80s to 90s and now this is not the sort of weather we have! Why ignore the truth and celebrate mediocrity and lies?

4. Some state and governments welcome housemates from their states but will never honour in public a 1st class graduate, an inventor and innovator or even the UBA security officer who returned monies. Yet when they give peanuts to some youth and elderly, their praises are sang to the high heavens.

5. For once, lets be truthful, if it was your sister or daughter exposing her bare breast on national TV to millions of viewers what will you do and what will your reaction(s) be?

1. You're a free moral agent. Free to make your choice to do or not do something; be involved in or get yourself associated with anything. To either watch or not watch any programme that either contradicts your values and believe or approves it. The choice is yours but that choice also has far reaching consequences. Please ask fired Bill O'Reilly a former face host on Fox what his long term choice (unwanted sexual advances, sexual-harassment of women and the likes) has brought him – SHAME!

2. Your views or standpoint on issues may differ but truth at all times must be said; what values have the show BBN added to you and I and the many who watched it? You may call it entertainment but it is not please. Even those who watch porn movies “adult entertainment” don't watch to be entertained really but to derive pleasures and sexual excitement.
3. What is bad is bad! President Trump said he doesn't believe Climate Change exist but truth be said, it sure exist. I was born in the 70s and have travelled to places. For God's sake, between the 80s to 90s and now this is not the sort of weather we have then! Why ignore the truth and celebrate mediocrity and lies?
4. Some state and governments welcome housemates from their states but will never honour in public a 1st class graduate, an inventor and innovator; a trail blazer or even the UBA security officer who returned monies (His state is yet to applaud him). Yet when they give peanuts to some youth and elderly, their praises are sung to the high heavens.
5. For once, let’s be truthful, if it was your sister or daughter exposing her bare breast on national TV to millions of viewers, what will you do or what will your reaction(s)? Yes TBoss and some others may choose to, but the consequences thereafter they will live to regret.

Many people (in fact some parents) actors, actresses and celebrities who live dangerously in the past; if you ask them, they will like to rewrite that chapter of their life. To many of them that chapter is unpleasant and dark.

Make the right choice. Let God guide you and be guided my godly principles and values – these often endure than fame acquired unjustly.
