Quack doctor amputates newborn child's hand after assuming he died in his mother's womb, only for him to eventually survive (photos)

An avoidable error by a supposed medical doctor has resulted in a baby losing one of its hand.

According to the story shared by a Facebook user, a man had taken his brother's wife to the hospital to deliver her baby. However, on getting there the doctor arrived at the conclusion that the baby was dead and sought the permission of the brother-in-law to amputate the child's hand so as to save the woman's life.
Turns out the baby was not dead and the child will have to live without a limb due to a doctor's mistake. The incident, which happened in northern Nigeria, has led a lot of people to call for further investigation because the story does not add up.

Tell this story to the birds. Both the doctor and everyone involved in the ampputation should be investigated including the woman's husband and brother inlaw that took her to that hospital. I have a feeling this is done for someone's selfish gain.

Something is definitely not right! The least modality to confirm death in utero is a simple sonogram! Which doctor looks at a woman and makes such assessment and jumps in to chop off a baby's hand? Even in the case of doing maceration for a confirmed intrauterine death, how does removing the hand first help save the mother's life aboki?

To save the mother's Life in which way? The amputation was made when the baby had already been born, so this story doesn't add up

I just wiped away tears for what was done to that baby and it all reminded me how I was running after a reluctant doctor at the Nnewi teaching hospital hours to the night my father passed away. She refused to come and attend to my complain over my father. I begged and begged before she came. That same night the nurses on duty left me kneeling by my seriously sick Father's bedside praying while they were enjoying their sleep. No sick person should be sent to teaching hospitals, they practically experiment with patients and sometimes leave patients alone for a greater part of the day only to return and haughtily tell you that the medical class rubbish they went to is more important than your dying loved one. Nigerian doctors especially the Igbo ones (I'm Igbo, you know) can be too next-to-God proud. Disgusting!
