Graphic: 3 APC members mistaken for robbers burnt to death by a mob in Benue

Three APC members who were mistaken for armed robbers were killed by a mob in Adikpo in Kwabde local government area in Benue state yesterday April 18th. According to Facebook user, Apiah Ehpraims who is the Senior Special Assistant on Media at ALGON Benue state, the men killed were Denen Agber Kur, Sega Agber Kur and Jagba Uhembe. Read what he wrote on his page after the cut...

Contrary to reports on the social media that three armed robbers were killed earlier today at Adikpo, a reliable source has just confirmed to me that the trio burnt by angry mob were not armed robbers as speculated but members of the All Progressive Congress APC from Mbadura council ward of Turan. According to the source, the trio identified as Denen Agber Kur, Sega Agber Kur and Jagba Uhembe were in Adikpo to escort sensitive materials for the APC primaries to their ward. Upon reaching Adikpo and waiting for the distribution exercise to commence, the trio sat at a buruku joint near the Kwande APC Secretariat to sip the local brew. It was at that point that robbers stormed a filling station in same location and after the robbers took off on motorbikes. The trio, relatively unknown faces to the angry youth of the area became suspect and killed instantly and set them ablaze.

Jeez! See the charred remains of the deceased. When will we ever get it right in this country? We no longer wear leaves but our mentality is too local for this century
So where are the election materials? Perpetrators of this heinous crime didn't even bother to search for ID cards from em. All they wanted was justice.Choi

Some Nigerians are still primitive. We are living in a civilized jungle.

JUNGLE JUSTICE...It would have been better if they were handed over to the appropriate law authority. It is unjustifiable to take the life of another person. We all have a right to life which is part of our fundamental human regime. Those that took their lives should be apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law which does not have human face.

Still the same reason while jungle Justice is never a solution, rather a problem. Security operatives shd have been involved for investigation, thereby getting to know actual fact. Who remedies this now, the killers certainly are culpable.
