Boko Haram members attack military base in Sabon Gari, kill 3 soldiers, steal weapons

Suspected Boko Haram members have attacked a military base in Sabon Gari community in Damboa local gobvernment area in Borno state, killing three soldiers and thereafter setting the military base on fire. The sect members stormed the military base at about 5.30pm on Sunday and began shooting sporadically.

According to some residents of the community, the terrorists after some hours of gun battle, overpowered the military officers and then set the military base on fire. They then raided the armoury, carting away many ammunitions.
"They went straight to the barracks and destroyed it. They burnt down the signal office, two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), a Hilux van mounted with AA guns and killed three soldiers. They injured many others and looted food items and ammunition," a resident of the community said

I thought by now we should be be in post BH era. These mofos storm into locations of their choosing, their time and ransack villages, set military bases on fire, kill people in cold blood and gloat right in our faces.
Until the sponsors of these murderers are identified and brought to book, I'm afraid this insurgency will keep spilling from one administration to another

This will tell us that Nigeria still has much in her hands, securitywise. IDP camps here and there also speaks so much on the country's security challenges. When the Nigeria Civil War ended in 1970, as a small boy then, we returned to our family compound immediately before arranging to return to our base. Media hypes will not solve our security challenges. Lets learn, I beg!
