Policeman allegedly shoots man dead in Abia State for challenging him

A young man identified as Chinedu Peter, was allegedly shot and killed by a Police Officer, on his way from an eatery with his girlfriend. The police officer identified as Ibe Uchenna, shot Chinedu in front of Christ the King Cathedral (C.K.C) Asa road, Aba after their vehicle was stopped. According to the Facebook user who shared the story on his wall, after he was shot, he asked the police officers to take him to the hospital, the Police Officers took Chinedu away from the scene but rather than take him to the hospital, they dumped him by a roadside where they thought his body wont be found. Read the story by Pedro Unekwe after the cut...

His names was Chinedu Peters, a resident of Aba and he was the bread winner of his family.
On 11th of March 2017, he was coming back from eatry joint with his girlfriend name withheld. The police on duty in front of Christ the King Cathedra(C.K.C) Asa road, Aba stopped the vehicle he was inside and ordered all of them to come out, they obeyed and all came out, they were asked to lay down on the floor which they also did. Few minutes later the police men told the only Hausa man in their midst to stand up and live with reason best known to them, Mr Chinedu out of anger stood up to ask questions why they ve to released the Hausa man and not all of for the fact they didn't get anything incriminating in them. One police man among them by name IBE UCHENNA ordered him to lie down or he will shoot him, he refused that he will only obey when the Hausa man is brought back, that was how he was shoot by someone that was suppose to protect him. He was lying down helpless crying for them to take him to hospital, instead they took him in their van and dumped him in a location they think people will not find out, took their car for a wash to cover their crime without knowing that the girlfriend was with him.
The girlfriend returned home and explained how this young and vibrant man was shot, in the next morning guys from his area and his brother went to CPS to lodge a complain but was told by the police that they don't know about such incident. The girlfriend insist on the case and the police commander called the troops that was deployed at the area and the girl was able to recognize their faces and the guy that shot him. The police later changed the story that Chinedu was taken to a hospital and that he is responding to treatment but refused to show the family which hospital. His family and friend set for a search party, and his dead body was found this morning 18th March 2017. They want back to the police for the police to tell them that the police Man that shot him IBE UCHENNA is now in detention in Umuahia.
We all know how corrupt this country Nigeria is when it comes to issues of security operatives, if no serious action is taken his blood spill will be a waste cos he will not get justice. That's why we decided to go public so this our brother can get justice. Please I plead with everyone in this family to helps us and share this tragic incident until it get to the right people that will intervene and give him justice. The painful part was this guy was shot and killed by an Igbo brother for the sake of Hausa man. HOW MANY OF OUR YOUNG YOUTHS WILL BE KILLED BEFORE THIS SORDID ACTS WILL STOP ?? PLS HELP US AND KEEP SHARING RIP brother...we will give you justice.

This is the height of wickedness, the culprit should be released to the mob,for appropriate sanction..

Look at this bigot!! So his brother killed him because of Hausa man? What has Hausa man got to do with this? Did the Hausa man instructed the policeman to shoot him? Instead to focus on how to get justice, you're making effort in painting the whole scenario to ethnic coloration

How many people will Nigeria police kill before our government will do something about it. We are not talking about covered cases. Assuming his girlfriend was not with him, nobody would have known what happened.its becoming worrisome that when you met a policeman who is supposed to protect life, you will be afraid of them.

You don't argue with a man that is holding a gun.

The police high command really needs to tell it's personell to stop this nonsense! It has been going on for too long. From 1983/84 when they shot Dele Udoh a Nigerian-American athlete it's been going on.

How stupid and senseless can we be?Shooting your own brother just because he was stubborn and demanded why Hausa man was freed and others weren't. Can any Hausa person kill his/her person in that manner? We are our problems! Biafra and unity will never work except we put our mental resources together!

RIP to the dead... I wonder if the hate some igbos have for other tribes especially hausas has any end.
This tragic incident, instead of being taken for what it is, is still seem as a medium to further ethnic malice.
The Hausa man made a case for himself and was set free, bottom line is he didn't shoot the dead, an itchy finger police did & although it's regretable, fact remains that he was shit by a fellow ibo. One can only imagine the consequences if he had been shot by another tribe especially Hausa. You share a tragic incident seeking help...playing the ethnic card might just have denied you of the needed help. Who knows if the person inspired to help would actually be an aboki.
We need to take it easy with the hate. RIP to the dead again.

Just similar to what happened to Akpos in warri. To me I will suggest the Nigerian police should be operated by graduates as officers, @ least IQ level and sense of humor is high then, Than all these village touts that stole even weac to join the force, Men that could have been in the village hunting. The most annoying one is the high percentage of hausa abokis in the force. Rest in peace bro.
