Photos: Fire outbreak at Yabatech female hostel

One of the female hostels (Bakasi Hostel) at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, was gutted by fire at about 5am this morning. According to several eyewitnesses, the fire wasn't serious at first, but because Fire Service didn't come on time, the fire soon spread. The cause of the fire is unknown. Thankfully no life was lost but a few people were injured, while students credentials and properties were burnt....more photos after the cut...

Thank God no life was lost. This is a lesson to many who overlook sparks from connected wires. It could be that similar thing has been occuring but the student never care to call the attention of the school. Now it has cause a great damage. The always say 'prevention is better than cure'. This principle is applicable not only in infection but also as precaution. My prayer is that we don't fall a victim of similar incident.
The management of yabatech should encourage the student so they won't think their their accademy is in jeopady due to loss of reasonable credentials.
