House of Reps member calls for posthumous promotion of fallen hero, Lt. Col Abu-Ali

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dasuki, today at the House session, moved a motion for fallen hero, Lt. Col. M. Abu-Ali to be immortalized. Dasuki called for him to be given an accelerated posthumous promotion, a national institution to be named after him as well as for his wife to be given an offer of employment. Abu-Ali was killed alongside 6 other soldiers in Mallam-Fatori in Borno state by Boko Haram members last Friday.

These are the kind of motions that should be emanating from the house of reps. We need more reps like Hon Dasuki.

D-PinPointer Says: His not the only one who died fighting Boko Haram. What about the other soldiers killed along with him; what about those who had made the ultimate sacrifice before him? Are their lives of lesser value? What is good for the goose, is also good for the gander. This is one thing I do not understand about Nigeria. Soldiers have been dying since due to BH and there are no fanfare heard, why all of a sudden, a Hausa colonel is killed, and it is as if it is the first time BH is killing someone. Hausa leadership of Nigeria has made the country become a useless, stinking place.

In respect to the dead..may his soul rest in peace..but is he the only soldier who has died in the course of fighting this insurgency? Its really unfair..maybe cos he's from a well to do home..God save this country

RIP hero, but is he the only person that died? Others have been dying why not promote every other fallen hero posthumously? Or is it because they're junior officers? And they've been made irrelevant in all these. Do the right thing.

But excuse me please, I greatly appreciate this Gallant Soldiers service and it is extremely sad that he had to lose his life in battle but then what about the other soldiers that lost their lives as well. Why is it only this particular one that is getting all the attention. Someone please explain to me?

Well deserved. Linda take note!

I sincerely sympathise with d fallen heroes, n I extend my heart felt condolence to their families. I fail to understand y this Ali guy is celebrated like d others are not soldiers,or fallen heroes. Biko is he buharis brother. Am confused really

So the other fallen hero's who died alongside this lt colonel are of no consequence ? All the recommendations made are just for him only because he is a retired general's son, na wah this life is so unfair!!!! Even the dead cannot be treated equally? Pls whatever they decide to do let them do same for the other soldiers because they all paid the ultimate price for the county.

Honour well deserved, they should also remember those that fought the battle with him, everyone one of them is significant in the history of this war against the dreaded boko haram. #Respect

What about other soldiers that died along with him? It appears they are not human. Sometime ago a Yoruba guy(army captain) was also killed by BH, nobody talked about it. This government Nawa!

MyPersonalOpinion said...

Agreed. There is nothing given to him that will be equal to his life sacrificed for this nation. They should so much support the fallen heroes's families that the living gallant ones will have nothing to fear for their children after they might have gone....I am MPO, I just want to state My Personal Opinion

I was born and brought up at SAPPER'S BARRACKS Ilese, Ijebu. Most of my friends were killed by Boko Haram insurgents. Why are they over hyping this man.(mind you I'm not happy over his death). A friend of mine (Christopher Adetiloye) died just a week before Mr Ali and many more. What do they have for those ones.

In as much as a empathize with the families, i wonder why all these noise, what of others late gallant Soldiers and their families. I began to think may be this guy was been nurtured to be the next CDS by the powers that be (Mafia ruling Nigeria)

Annonymous said...

He was given accelerated promotion already as his course mates are still majors or just got promoted a few weeks ago, yes I agree the wife can be helped and his kids be given scholarships from his state government or any good kind hearted Nigerian who wants to help BUT don't make it look as if others who died while serving in Maiduguri or Niger delta are irrelevant. They are all important, parent lost children, wives lost husband's, children lost fathers etc. They all had blood running blood in their veins.

Anonymous said...

Because his father is king ba? What about other fallen soldiers?
