Former Manchester and Northern Ireland football star, Philip Mulryne has been ordained as a deacon in the Catholic Church.  The 38 year old who earned 27 caps for his country and also represented Norwich, Leyon Orient, King’s Lynn and Cardiff City was ordained by the Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin, on Saturday and is now a member of the Dominican Order.

The former Central Back that started his career in 1996, where he played with David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and others before retiring from football in 2008, will be officially ordained a priest in 2017.

This is God at work. He can call anyone at anytime to do His work. I once heard about a successful Nigerian-Ibo Autodealer who left his business and became a Catholic Priest. On the day of his ordination, many of his business partners in and outside Nigeria came just for the sake of wondering what could be so good about this that such a successful man would leave all and become a poor priest. Only God can do this. God bless His Calling. A Dominican Priest is one of the favourite Orders of Priest that are very brilliant and appealing to young people.
