FG plans to import fuel from Niger republic

NNPC Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru, over the weekend disclosed ongoing plans by the Federal Government to import fuel from Niger Republic to Nigeria. Baru who disclosed this during a town hall meeting with the management and staff of KRPC in Kaduna, said President Buhari has ordered the construction of about 1, 000 kilometer crude oil pipelines from Niger Republic to Kaduna Refinery.

“Due to challenges with the aged refinery and crude oil pipelines that had been breached severally, the operations of the refinery has been epileptic. This we are determined to resolve through various intervention methods, including evaluation of alternative crude oil supply from Niger Republic through building of a pipelines of over 1, 000 kilometers from Agadem to Kaduna. That effort is being championed by Mr. President himself. It was important to explore alternative crude supply to KRPC which has been affected by vandalism of pipelines and obsolescence. The Corporation has already started engagements with the Nigerien Minister of Petroleum and the Chinese that are operating the field at Agadem located in the East Niger Rift Basin"he said

Now you see? They are playing out the script of making the North self reliant and making the Crude in the South dispensable. It is time for the Niger Delta states to realise that they are blasting their way out of relevance and that Oil which seem to be the only thing they have is going out of fashion. Let this be a wake-up call that nature abhors vacuum. If we allow the North use the national wealth to build themselves up, the south will be saddled with oil that they cannot sell or refine.

Reading the above comments, it is quite unfortunate how we Nigerians think. This should be a post for us to come together and reason why we cant transport crude oil to our own refineries due to vandalisation. We are having the same problem with power because they keep vandalising the gas pipelines. This whole petty mentality of because I feel a certain way about a person, let us all suffer. Our leaders are not the problem but the ignorance and foolishness of the average nigerian.

IF ONLY WE KNOW THAT WE ARE KILLING OURSELVES BY BOMBING THE PIPELINES IN THE NIGER DELTA; NOW WE ARE SPENDING THE HARD EARNED FOREX TO IMPORT CRUDE FROM OUTSIDE, GOD WILL HELP US.

Your brain must be in reverse. Haso Nigeria not been importing fuel for more than 8 years now since Almighty shameless PDP killed off all the refineries so they can sell it to themselves as scrap. What sense is there economic or otherwise going to import from Europe what u can get in your back yard

Tpy said...

No, you are the stupid one for concluding on a matter you know nothing about
