Exclusive Photos: President Buhari's billionaire in-laws, Indimi family perform the 'Kayan Zance' cultural rights to marry Zahra

On Nov 21st, LIB exclusively confirmed that President Buhari's daughter Zahra is to wed Ahmed, one of the sons of Billionaire oil mogul, Mohammed Indimi, in December 2016. The introduction between the families held at the Aso Villa, Abuja on Nov 18th. (Read here)

The ceremonies have now officially kicked off...and here's the main scoop! After a marriage proposal is tendered to the bride’s family and they have accepted, according to cultural rights, the groom’s family needs to provide a number of items to the bride, this is called “Kayan Zance”. This was officially done by the Indimi family, yesterday Nov 28th in Abuja.

According to a source in the know, the family was well received and the environment was very cheerful. Some Governors wives received the brides gift with plenty of laughter. More interestingly, it was revealed to LIB that nobody initially knew who the groom was dating, as he referred to her by a special nickname. It wasn't until the introduction that her identity was revealed to his family members.

These photos show the groom's residence and also when the Indimi family were received with the exquisite and customized gifts they bought for their bride, Zahra in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Our prayers are with the new couple to be. More details to come!

Did you guys hear the groom's family brought those gift as a traditional right? Usually your groom and his family will give any gift they dim befitting for their would be bride. Remember this is a young chap a while ago revealed the balance of his account amounting in almost a million dollars. So what has her dad got to do with the gift?

Nigerians should learn to read. The article says the groom's family presented the gifts, so need to mention Buhari's name here.

Your fight is with Indimi and the person that gave him oil blocs

Every ethics has their own culture, b4 they sit on ground they'll make sure that the floor is clean and tidy, u wait and see the day of. The wedding fatiha is also the samething , pls respect any tribal traditional culture.

I think I am the only one that has said CONGRATULATIONS to the couple to be. May God bless your marriage. Haters should read the comments very well. Kayan Zance is where the Groom (in this case, a son of Billionaire) buys gifts for the Bride. It is not the first family that bought the gifts.. Pls use your brain. Alhaji Indimi is well to do and can buy all these items 100x over for his daughter-in-law. If you love your wife and you have the means, you would probably give her a gift on daily basis. Same is applicable to wives. Let us be real here and be objective. Pls respect their culture, Ibos sit on the chairs but Hausas sit on the floor. Is there a medical reason that is against sitting on the floor?

Anonymous said...

Are you daft... in the Hausa culture sitting on the floor is a sign of respect! Please go and educate yourself before yan your mouth anyhow!

Imagine. What if those high end "bridal gifts" were made in Nigeria?

Will somebody please remind The Buharis and The Indimis that their nation is going through trying times. Charity begins at home! It is not a sin to prosper your own economy!

I can see some people comparing her wedding to that of GEJ daughter, when will Nigeria youth starts thinking logically and stop being controlled by their emotions and take their time to read, digest and think before commenting on a post here, The post said the gifts are from the groom family and not for her family, so y'all are blaming PMB I don't get.

For those that are talking about local content, pls show me a made-in-Nigeria box that is more durable than the ones in the picture. Meanwhile, all of the people in the picture are wearing native attire and I am sure majority of those fabrics are made in the Nigeria but if not, who is to blame? Most of us wear native attire but it is a pity that most of the fabrics are imported. So who do we blame for the non-availability of locally made fabrics? Do we know how much savings Nigeria will make if there are quality locally made cosmetics for our Ladies to buy? This is just one of the items. There are so much more. Let us forget about this daily PMB & GEJ Comparisons or tribal dissing and get back to work. The harvest is rich but the workers are very few. I see a lot of opportunities for Nigerians in Food/catering, Fashion, entertainment, sports/wellness, Agriculture, IT and even Education (Build an International Standard University in Nigeria or upgrade existing ones and you will see a mad rush). We need to up our game. Oyinbo dem no pass us anything, na structure/management skills dem get no be witch. Kudos to organizations like NAFDAC that raised the bar in standardization. Good evening Nigerians.

Hmmmm…Its unfortunate that this nice gentle looking girl is been coarsed into marrying into a family of devilish girls especially. Already, the drama at the entrance to the villa is a prelude to what awaits poor Zahra. This show of affluence is not but smoke screen. Well,I pray Ahmed is able to take control of his home without the interference of Rahama whose ego could not manage her own. Otherwise,i wish the about the weds best of luck and wisdom to manage their home without interference from the egoistic few in the groom's family.

Anybody knows why the children from the other wife (Adama & co) no longer associate with their sisters/brothers from the 1st wife (Rahma & co). Adama and her sisters seemed to be involved with Rukkymama's wedding but since then they seem to just ignore each other's existence.

It's part of our tradition to sit on d floor when interacting with elders...it's a mark of respect. Don't be too naive n get too carried away by western culture that ours starts looking archaic to u. Arabs sit on d floor too even with their golden sofas so what?? After all don't Yorubas prostrate flat on d floor to acknowledge their elders?? Who ever told them people lie on beds???

Are you ready for the tea? Apparently the dad found out Samira (the mum) was pimping out her kids and was causing trouble for the family so he asked them to distance themselves! They were seeking attention at Rukymama's wedding. No longer invited around the family. It's smart that they're using social media to form humanitarian to conceal their bad reputation i have to give that to them.
