Ben Murray-Bruce, Gbenga Ashafa, singer Vector kick against planned hike in the price of data bundle

Senators Gbenga Ashafa and Ben Murray-Bruce have kicked against the planned increase in the price of data bundle by telecommunication companies which is to take effect from tomorrow December 1st. The board of the National Communications Commission had in a letter sent to telecommunication companies, directed them to increase the price of their data bundles with effect from tomorrow.

The commission in the letter, stated that the increase was to get the communication companies to have a flat rate for data bundles and also for very healthy and sustainable competition amongst them. Ben Murray-Bruce and Ashafa however argue that there are better ways to make the telecommuication companies run unified data bundle price without increasing it.

I've been waiting for Bruce to get involved, he didn't disappoint me! I don't know when government started telling businesses how to price their goods! It's illegal and wicked, a way to gag us from social media. I regret campaigning for buhari!

Technically it shows this Buhari doesn't have any common sense and no idea of governance at all. People are complaining and living in abject poverty, yet all you could do was to increased the fuel price amongst other things and now again want to increase data bundle and call rate. My prayer is for you not to regret your decisions at the end of your life!

Ladies and gentlemen, how does forming a UNION whereby everybody must sell a commodity or provide a service at a unified price promote competition??????????????? I thought secondary school Economics talked about competition (the real thing called competition) being the best for the consumer. Or am I getting it wrong? If the price is dictated is it still competition? Is the present state not competition? Competition brought down prices and they are telling us that fixing the price is competition? Na wa o. Some telecom companies instigated this NONSENSE. E.g, some UNIONS like hairdresser unions threaten to seize hair driers if a hairdresser provides services at a lower rate than that stipulated by the UNION. The fool eye when dem take look us na the one when be say dem go sell us give us the receipt hold. Nigeria, I hail!!!!!!

Price-fixing competition? Doesn't that stand reasoning on its head?
