Alibaba bares his mind on the recent arrest of some judges accused of corrupt practices

The comedian took to social media to bare his mind on the arrest and detention of judges accused of corruption over the weekend. He wrote;
"What is not good is very very bad... the mess in the judicial system is the reason people who should be in jail are allowed to run for elections, become governors, senators and even determine the fate of our country. That is why people whose properties... I mean all their properties, should be confiscated and jailed to boot, are all walking around like mini gods.
If it were overseas, would anyone who diverted monies that were meant to prosecute a war, and used same for personal goals, while the soldiers who were at the battle front were being killed and their wives widowed, be asking for human right cover? After you caused human lives to be lost... if there is proof that a judge was corrupt, he loses his immunity... no negotiations. Do you know how many people are walking free today because of the corrupted judiciary? People who were paid to provide services but did not. People who are in office because of a faulty judicial process? Do you know how many pensioners died because one man who caused their deaths, was awarded a plea bargain? Define perpetual injunction? People are in jail for a case in America, but the people who were involved in the same case that got them jailed, are party chieftains, in Nigeria! People who never supplied one liter of Petroleum product but collected subsidies... if there is evidence against the judges, arrest all of them! Some SANs that are shouting now may just be the ones who gave the judges money. That's how they will be frustrating young lawyers who are on the verge of winning a career enhancing case. They will bribe the case in their Favour. Thereby killing the young lawyer's passion and trust in the judiciary!".

Intrestingly almost everybody agrees that the Judges have a case to answer, opinion however differ on the manner of arrest. But everybody is the same before the law and daily we see and hear about how people are picked in different circumstances. If indeed we are same under the law of the federal Republic and we did not complain when others were picked, why are you worried about the Judges?

Economy and history. Will remember forever!if you seek justice you. Must come with clean hands. If there are evidences against this 'corrupt' judges the method of arrest is not as grave as. We all have to be truthful to ourselves and make this country a better place and stop being one sided.in the case of the Burantai in the issue of him buying houses in Dubai what did the govt do about it nothing.

I am sure the judges were picked up with warrants. Irrespective of the time they are picked up it is no problem. A person could be picked up in the middle of the night if he has been accused of a crime(which the judges have been accused of). An alleged drug peddler or crime lord could be picked up in the middle of the night who say the alleged guilty judges can't be picked up too. My view as long as there is a warrant for their arrest, the time of picking them is not relevant.

Sometimes the police need some exhibits in order to nail a suspect. Just bcos u have certain immunity, you then turn your house into where armed robbers can keep guns and loots. Most of the judges are big time criminals...occultists. They don't deserve all the opulence they are enjoying and not even their children. They will even donate part of it in their church and mosque messing up the house of God. Their family gets undeserved recognition which may easily be seen by some as oppression and the oppressed may resolve to robbery. They spend lavishly and those fake pastors will not identify them as wicked people but they can easily pick out a witch and slap her on the podium. Just bcos witches do not donate like looters. Jet seekers!Everywhere is corrupt.

@ Uju, wrong is wrong even if everyone is saying it is right. You hit the nail on the head, we want to be like the developed countries and yet we don't want to respect the rule of law. When Buhari was sworn in as president, he swore to uphold the rule of law and now that he has just done the opposite, shortsighted people are praising disregard for the oath he swore to uphold.
Shame on all of you attacking her,can you all ask yourselves if the document which binds us as humans and not animals(the constitution) is in support of this line of action?

Even if a warrant of arrest was issued, it must be carried out within the hours of 6am-6pm, now ask yourselves when the " legally backed searches" were carried out.

Uju don't be intimidated speak the truth for enslavement awaits those who support tyranny.

You too shut up! When you hear the truth, you will want to shut the person down. It is because of people like you that Nigeria cannot move forward. Idiot

You are so dull. You are the one who should be quiet. So if they invite them, you think they wont go and hide the evidence in their houses? Pls talk intelligently next time. Moreover, DSS had a search warrant

All you thieves hiding under the cover of democracy. I pray they kidnap your daughter and the police will invite the kidnappers politely. Dumb fool. Idiot

@JEMBETE YOU ARE THE BIGGEST BUFOON ON PLANET EARTH. WHEN KIDNAPPERS ABDUCT YOUR DAUGHTER AND YOU KNOW THE HOUSE WHERE THE KIDNAPPER IS LIVING, PLEASE TELL THE POLICE TO INVITE THE KIDNAPPER INSTEAD OF GOING TO THE KIDNAPPER'S HOUSE TO ARREST THE KIDNAPPER. DULL BRAIN. FOOL

You are the bigger fool. Ali Baba works for his money. It is his sweat. If he organises a show and politicians decides to patronise him, are you expecting him to drive them away? If you have a supermarket and a politician comes to patronise you by buying stuff from your supermarket, will you drive the politician away? Please reason with your brain instead of your anus. Fool

@Anonymous 2:53PM Please leave Ali Baba's family and his person life alone and let's face the issue on ground. If Ali Baba decides to charge millions for his show, it is his business. If you dont like it, then dont attend the show. It is not by force. He did not force you to pay for the table. Is he not going to pay for the hall that he rented for the show? Is he not going to pay the musicians and comedians that will perform? He has children's school fees to pay, he has NEPA bill plus other expenses to pay. Are you expecting him to do the show for free? How do you expect him to feed his family if he keeps doing shows for free? If politicians decide to come for his show, how does that concern him? Please go and get a life and stop the hate. Stmcheew

It clearly shows that you have not been following the news. DSS had search warrants. They have invited the judges several times but they did not appear and they have evidences of video clips of the bribery and corruption committed by the judges. It is always good to hear the other side of the story before jumping into conclusion and taking sides. Go and google and read the latest news about the story and stop talking trash here.

If i was one of the police there, i would have shot the stupid Wike and pretend that it was a mistake. Such corrupt idiots dont deserve to live. If he tries that stunt again, a state of emergency will be declared in portharcourt and a military governor will take over that state because Rivers state need iron hand. They are too stubborn

Anthony Ozizagun and Phil... It might interest you to know that the Nigerian Law actually supports the manner and time of arrest so what is your complain exactly. Nigerians, more often than not argue blindly (I honestly do not mean any disrespect). An informed mind is a transformed mind. Please watch this video ( https://youtu.be/43Ip4tWmIts ) and I expect that you will apologise Anthony, for telling someone who voiced his opinion to shut up. You don't insult people for giving there two cents on issues, It is their civic rights, freedom of speech.
