"The stigma of being associated with terrorism is worse than that of HIV/Aids" - Ahmad Salkida

Journalist Ahmad Salkida, on Tuesday stated that the government ruined his life and rendered him homeless, after declaring him wanted in August 2016 for his supposed connection with terrorist sect Boko Haram. Salkida met with the authorities and was released after the government claimed it was a misunderstanding and apologized privately to him. (Read here)

However, the damage was already done. Salkida claims that he's being stigmatized and can no longer provide for himself or his family. He's demanding for a public apology in-order to right the wrongs of being falsely declared wanted. See more his tweets explaining the situation below...

Valid grievance. How can they tarnish his name publicly and out of shame and behind closed doors apologize for their mistake? This government everyday is turning to be a huge disappointment to some of us who once believed in it

I guess been called a terrorist or associated to one is almost the same thing as being a stigma.

With time it will pass.
