Recession: Senate rejects sale of National assets

The senate today rejected the sale of some National assets to reflate the economy which is currently in recession. Many Nigerians including the Senate President Bukola Saraki and members of the National Economic Council NEC have all favored the sale of some national assets like NLNG ltd as measures to revive the ailing economy.

I think the government should sell the 4 refineries and billionaire Niger Deltans who made money during GEJ's regime and militants/bunkerers should get their acts together and buy off the refineries.

That way we would kill 2 birds with one stone namely:
1. They wouldn't wake up tomorrow and claim government sold the assets to northerners
2. they would stop blowing pipelines and become peaceful as the pipelines supply their refinaries as well as evacuate the refined products

Government should sell some of its shares in NLNG and the oil companies to Nigerians, that way they can stop being major shareholders and allow the companies to run purely as profit generating organisations while government benefits from taxes and dividends, and government wouldn't have to find money to fund the operations of the oil companies. The shares shouldn't be sold to a single individual but to every Nigerian who is capable and no single person should be allowed to own more than 1% of the shares

It's clear pmb has an agenda to give Nigeria to hausa and himself by selling the National assets to his kinsmen. He didn't find oil in the North so he ventured into this idea. What sort of personality and tribalistic man is this?

This is like a prodigal-child that spend all his inheritance , and end up in the PAWN-SHOP.All that natural resources we squander it. What a dirty shame.

Nice one oo. Tell the people weh want to pay National assets make them go front or other Countries go find National assets. There are other Nations in the World to consult. Or better still ask Dangote if him wan sell him sugar or cement factories.

Yeah right, every Nigerian indeed. You don't live in Nigeria? Ordinary low cost housing still gets bought by the rich you then lease them out to the low income earners they were built for

Those who have manipulated govt policies in the past to become billionaires were the ones with such suggestions. They have failed.
