NFL player Colin Kaepernick reveals he's received death threats since his decision not to stand during the national anthem

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick says he has received death threats after he made the controversial decision not to stand up and sing while the national anthem was played as a form of protest for racial inequality in the U.S.

Colin's jersey is officially the highest selling jersey this season, but most people who buy it, have done so just to burn it and film it being burnt as he's been criticised by so many people for his stance

“One of the things I’ve noticed throughout this is there’s a lot of racism in this country disguised as patriotism,” Kaepernick said Tuesday

“And people want to take everything back to the flag, but that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking racial discrimination, inequalities and injustices that are happening across the nation.”

According to Kaepernick, death threats have come from a "couple of different avenues" including social media and when he was asked about whether somebody were to act upon the specific threats made towards him, Kapaernick said "it will be loud and clear for everyone why it happened, and that would move this movement forward at a greater speed than what it is even now."
"There's a lot of racism disguised as patriotism in this country. And people don't like to address that. And they don't like to address what the root of this protest is," he added

“You have a situation like Terence Crutcher, where his car was broken down and he was looking for help and got murdered,” Kaepernick said. “That’s a perfect example of what this is about. I think it’ll be very telling what happens with the officer that killed him."

Meanwhile, Kaepernich has said he would donate $1m (£770,000) of his salary this season to local communities that support his protest over the next 10 months.

How does not standing and singing national anthem a protest against racism? We blacks don't even like ourselves. We separate white clothes from black clothes during laundry.Protests like this may have worked in Sarafina, but going on a solo mission mehn, that's suicide

But is standing up for the national anthem not a mark of respect? I don't get the reason for the death threats, but i guess they don't like him much.

Fuck this no good QB. This washed up QB knew he was about to be let go by his team SF 49ners thats why he pulled this stunt. By the way football has started, right now no one cares if he seats down, cartwheels, be taking a shit, giving himself head while the national anthem is going on. No one cares about this LOSER right now, all we care about is FOOTBALL. PERIOD. FUCK Krapernick, even he's biological parents couldn't stand his sorry ass thats why they gave him up for adoption and right now his adopted family are disappointed in his stupid ass. FOOTBALL is HERE.

@Bonita Bislam @benito and @ike manuel this is it, in case u don't understand, the point of colin sitting down, was to make everyone (especially the "US GOVERNMENT") understand and realize how far these racial killings have gone, sacrificing his security and indirectly his life for all blacks over there, inspiring others to stand up against this inequality by him sitting down..... but how do you appreciate that? saying all these things?...i'm a nobody buh still i'm dissapointed #blacklivesmatter

Lemme educate u, what it means is that he doesn't agree with the anthem. He doesnt support the country that doesn't support him and his skin color. He can't respect a country that doesn't respect his skin color .
