Minister of the FCT bans beggars, herdsmen, street hawkers, others in Abuja

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammad Bello has banned begging, street hawking, cattle grazing and commercial motorcycles (Okada) from operating within the state.

This was decided after a meeting on Monday. During the meeting, Bello condemned the illegal use of uncompleted buildings by criminals, homeless people, and miscreants and warned that owners of such property will be held responsible if these individuals commit any crime while staying in their property..

Herdsmen good, but baggers and hawkers, what are the alternatives? They should provide alternative first before driving them off the streets of Abuja....

Not a moment too early. Abuja's streets have turned into a veritable market for hawkers, beggars and all sorts, who pose a real security risk, especially at night when, if you dare to take a walk you might be accosted by the odd, well built, young man or woman, beggar, hawker or street con on a lonely street or sidewalk, when you can imagine all possible combinations of the things that could go wrong.

There's a simple formula to curb the phenomenon: Don't only arrest and chase after those agile street denizens alone, arrest and fine street buyers and givers of alms too, then the market will dry up and the peddlers will up an quit.

Enugu State Governor, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi hurry up and do same. Ban the herdsmen quickly and save your face. You are losing it. Ban herdsmen. This is why I do not like fat people. They are too dull.

I hope he will truly rid the streets of these guys(cows, beggars, herdsmen) because this Minnister and his agencies seem to be after unimportant things like destroying all the nice small businesses, attachment stores that serves people of abuja especially at Wuse2 (yahuza by Hmedix, Hootas bar and grill and a host of other corner shops).

Just like the former FCT Minister was after the Prostitutes, i bet they will do same and not get rid of the actual menace to the society.

We are watching anyways.

Haaaa wonders shall never end. I strongly believe the cows must have spoilt their property thats why they are making this law. Non chalant attitude, when it doesnt affect them directly they dont bloody care. The same way they didnt care when BokoHaram started with Christians until they started killing them too. Thats what you get when you have abokis in pawa. Imagine me going for morning jogging around my house in Asokoro and all of a sudden a herd of cows frightens me out of the way. ndi araaa. Biko let the madness stop joor.
