Photos: Nigeria Police Force reinstates officer who was verbally dismissed 21 years ago

Sergeant Amos Olaniyan (pictured right) who was verbally dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 over allegations of collecting bribe, has been reinstated into the force after the senate intervened in his matter. Olaniyan was verbally dismissed in 1994 on a baseless allegation of bribery which an Orderly Room Trial discharged and acquitted him of but the police refused to recall him..

Senator Solomon Adeola had petitioned the senate committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition over his dismissal. The committee did its investigations and found out the allegations leveled against Olaniyan were false. The senate during its plenary on December 15th 2015, had ordered that Olaniyan be reinstated and all his entitlements paid. Pictured above is Olaniyan receiving his reinstatement letter with his entitlement to be paid from October 11st, 1994 to August 11st, 2015.

This is how senators work. Their work should have a direct impact in people's lives. Senators need to work on a macro (country) and micro (constituency) level. This family will never forget the senator. We need more stories like these - Newyorker( Linda let's get married )

These is rubish why on earth will people not be able to say the truth about things, was these what senate promise him even the IGP is not following there orders. Every body in the contry does not have boss but what we knw is that the senate are more than the IGP himself.

Linda Ikeji did nt get d tru story of d letter of re-instatement. D letter/ signal given 2 Sgt. Amos Olaniyan is stated as follows:"That d IGP has considered d appeal submittd by Amos Olaniyan, n has graciously set aside d punishment of dismal, d appellant is reinstated notionally with effect frm 11th Oct. 1994 n retired wef 11th Aug. 2015." Dis letter ws signd by CP Jonah J. Mava (Force Provost Marshal) Force Hdqrt. Abuja. Dis ws d same man dat represent d IGP on 22nd Oct. 2015 @ d senate committee on ethics, priveledges n public petitions. (pls NOTE: he Neva made mention dat d officer in questn hs bin retired since Aug. 2015). In view of dis, I implore u(Linda) 2 investigate more on dis matter n get d tru story/ facts frm Sgt. Amos Olaniyan
