Hello LIB Readers, I need your contributions/knowledge to enlighten myself. I have this issue that has always been bothering my mind. Kindly assist to clarify.

Why do we usually say the female name first when describing a wedding ceremony like "Bimpe weds Tony" but not the other way i.e. Tony weds Bimpe.

Who invented this? Is that the appropriate English phrase? Or did it become a culture overnight? Awaiting u guys clarification.

Yours truly,
Anonymous B.
