I nor go watch! lol!Last to comment! Yeah!
watching it on CNN,I couldn't help but laugh at the way she wittingly avoided the Alameseigha pardon question. this woman is very smart that Amanpour couldn't get anything on her.she sure knows her onus. ~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA3310
God!!!! am loving this woman...Okonjo-Iweala'
She tactically avoided the question about Ibori's pardon.
Her take on privatisation could only be on point if its in some sectors but her saying....“We are selling off everything” seems quite injudicious! Also her take on corruption is a facade of the truth...“This is a country of 170 million people; 99.9 percent of them are honest” We all know that's not true and that's the major problem facing this country today.
Love this Laady.
God, am loving this...Nice one Ma'am Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala...
She didn't say anything concerning the unreasonable pardons granted!!!!!
Lol, very funny.. this cnn can fall our hand
8 minutes is a bit long, will return to watch everything.
How pathetic,mr president could not escaped it;ironically the lights went off on his delivery speech on easter.*shame gudluck, shame*I guess its high time an igbo person step in the seat of president..cause all I see is a puppet.
Hahahah, this country has bigger problems than I thought. The president and finance minister lying on national tv. I bet she was relieved when the interview ended. She couldn't give a straight answer to one simple question. Infact she didn't say a word about the former governor's release. God will help us
I like this Ngozi woman. I think she will make a far better President than lucky.
God have mercy... We'll smile one day!!
she is defending the indefensible...any learned person knows all societies function like an organism with rules and consequences. Nigerian upper class has got a taste for the billionaire lifestyle and will do anything to retain their source of income. Whilst this percolates into the lower levels of society. The by product of this is corruption. Nigeria needs a different system of values and law enforcement. These is actually the core of primary solution to all these problems. Any other suggestion is secondary and a top-down approach to the problem. Nigeria is an organism with metastasised cancer. At this stage, only a mild variant of communism can achieve these result. Btw the increased interest in Nigeria by CNN these days is the fact that all macro-economic factors in the world point to it as an amazing destination for excellent high yield/dividend business.
SHE DID NOT ADDRESS THE QUESTION>>>>WHY ALAMS WAS PARDONED>>>YIMU
What exactly is this woman's interest in Nigeria? See the background videos like Nigeria is one jungle. God bless my Country!
Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala,I am proud of u
Majorly B.S, what a way 2 deviate from explaining d pardon
Now this is what I call an interview!this is how it goes when you are interviewing a person that knows his/her onions...not all those "ogas at the top"*rme* Thank you Mrs Okonjo-Iweala for trying to salvage our damaged image! What a man can do, a woman can do BETTER!
Intelligent thief, she sure did speak better than the president. Anyway let them save the bullshit for them self and fix the country
What exactly is this woman interest in Nigeria? She is negatively publicizing this country to the world. See the background videos, like Nigeria is one jungle or God forsaking village. God bless Nigeria anyways.
After only three minutes, Amanpour shut down the interview. Guess she saw she couldn't make this nigerian goof
Majorly B.S. what a way to deviate @ d presidential pardon question
Fair answer by the Minister. I expected more from her when she talked about how stolen oil is bought by other countries. She is very correct to say that people always ascribe corruption after the mention of Nigeria. The Western world has forgotten that all the stolen wealth from Africa are banked in their countries. Why did they not question the monies that are being brought to their countries? They know they are been transfered illegally yet they keep silent to it as they know they will inherit the monies later when it backfires. Double standard from these so called developed countries. Besides, CNN is ever obsessed in portraying Nigeria as a bad country. They will never show you good structures, well dressed people, ugly serene as if there is none in Nigeria. This is also particular with Christine Amanpour in her showcasing of selected African countries. Unfortunately, Nigerians will come out and wash their dirty closets in front of others.
the government is useless.
I don't understand why Nigeria's government keeps comparing us to other developed countries. Whether or not they have problems is not our business. They are asking us to repair the issues we have, and not pin-point those same issues in other countries. It is fair enough that the government is frustrated about the United States' picking on them. But they deserve it. This is exactly what we need. We should not feel comfortable because other countries have the same problems. We are not 'other countries'. And the most annoying part is that like the President did as well, she blamed oil theft on the countries buying it! There will be no buying if there's no supply. Plus, she did not answer the question on why the governor who stole money was set free. I understand her points, but we still need the government to do more than sit and look at other countries. We need to focus on Nigeria and work on making ourselves better, instead of look up to foreign countries to see what exactly we should do. Those countries have economies that are falling like a stack of cards. I like the fact that the Nigerian government is being picked on. Hopefully, this will bring about a change. Plus, even if they are working on the electricity, we are not seeing results yet.
Its so nauseating when these people ( president and his loyal cohort) tell conspicious lies, when its evidently clear that what they speak is far from the truth. What stops the bright ideas in their heads from being implimented, whilst having a bit to embessle. The more I watch them on tv or read articles on their hypocrisy and mediocrity- the more I smell the air of hopelessness for the future.
Ngozi okonjo-iweala 4 president 2015
wow...she's so intelligent and passionate.
interesting interview that was rather too short. and also mrs Minister i noticed that you skipped the issue of Alams pardon, for solidarity sake i suppose. least i forget please we would want to see more improvement in the power sector.
Okonjo-Iweala did her oga at d top proud. She is way more eloquent than he is. But she lied. They all do. Doesn't she accept brown envelopes stashed with fx before she signs vital docs that affect certain companies? Isn't she part and parcel of the continuing rot called governance in Nigeria?Specifically, she said 2013 is the year that govt will produce results. She was silent on the areas the results would come from. She should have mentioned when the seeds were sown and how long it takes to see the results. That would have strengthened her argument about the expected results. Or is it results confined to her bank accounts overseas???She said the move by govt to situate public spending on the Electronic Platform will prevent corruption. Big lie! Such a measure merely restricts corruption to a smaller group. Those who work within the platform are able to cart humongous amounts away by the simple click of a mouse. If you've any friend working in a bank just ask the person how much fraud goes on in their e-dept... it's unbelievable the amounts young bankers steal without anyone knowing bcos proper control measures are not in place.OK, corruption happens within govts of advanced countries too but its ratio to delivery is by far better than what we see here where corruption is 98% while delivery is 2%.Abeg nor raise my BP jor!
Wow, this is my 1st time writing on ur blog. this piece was refreshing, inspiring and most of all 'hope-restoring'. We Nigerians are smart, intelligent and blessed. God bless that woman.
Tittle: Lies of the Present Government
Christain Amanpour, don't bother to waist your time on these criminals, they are all lawyers they will always win their cases. There is electricity 24hrs and everybody is very rich in Nigeria.People are praising Jonathan for uninterrupted electricity in Nigeria, The petrol theft has stopped. Just leave them, they are not the cause of Nigeria problem
Ride on mother In law. Son In law is really proud of you. Continue spreadn our wealth to oda countries.
Good interview from an image making point of view. but i question some of her figures saying 99.9% are honest people. Then why the high waves of corruption.Otherwise good interview in defence of an inempt leader
Story story! She avoided d Alamieyeseigha's questn
Intelligent evasion of the question about "Alams"... Amampour would have preferred poor JOna lol
There's really nothing to watch there..utter bs... she's incoherent and not answering the questions. It sad really, especially when she was asked about her view on the presidential pardon. I remember watching Oputa's panel a few weeks back and wondering how those individuals who obviously lacked intellect could hold the country to ransom. It worse watching her, she's intelligent but obviously in denial and clearly blind as well as evasive. It appears we now have delusional intellects holding the country to ransom.
strong black woman but she did not answer the question, about why a corrupt governor was pardoned.
She was asked a question about a white man and she was giving d answer relating to a father! What is ur take on d pardon given to Alamehsia n she was talking abt general corruption. Mschewww
THIS ONE GREAT WOMAN NIGERIA HAS GOT AND WONDER WHY OUR MEN IN POLITICS DONT FEEL ASHAMED SEEING HER. I BELIEVE ONE DAY WE WOULD MANY OF NGOZI OKONJO, FOLURUSHOLA, DORA AKUNYILI AND EVEN MORE FASHOLA...REALLY FEEL ASHAMED OF MY COUNTRY WHEN ITS CALLED OUT HERE IN SOUTH AFRICA.LOUD US WOULD SHOUT AND BRAG HIGHEST THE DAY WE START HAVING ORDINARY 15 HRS POWER SUPPLY.WHEN ORDINARY GHANA, IVORY COAST, TOGO AND OTHERS ENJOY 24 HRS POWER SUPPLY SINCE 80S. Worse interview, this interview was all CHEAP TALK CHEAP TALK and a snooze fest ,wake me up when she is done ........hhisssssssss
honestly... i am not sure what to make of this... i am just so blank.
Stories upon stories..Don't dis ppl get tired of cooking okro soup stories.Well dey'r all professional liars,we need 2 find our head & belle on our own cos dis ppl na to tiff d money enjoy am alone, den walka come tell us nonsense 2 defend dia criminal act.
You go school, yes! you sabi speak grammar, yes! but dat no be the way forward for this country. English grammar wont put food on the table nor provide basic infrastructures. It is obvious this country is still stagnant. Things are working in d slowest pace ever, the rich are amassing more wealth, whilst the poor keep dying of lack and want. Good riddance pls!!!
am sure she wil tell a whole lott lies.mschewww!*pinch screen*
Abegee!Wetin dis one get to talk. After, u people will be celebrating her as if she is clean. She should be intimidated by the standard of living she witnessed while visiting other countries. NEXT??
Madam Okonjo,Good one u re never at loss with words..well polished lies
HMmmm.. I hope this woman hasn't decided to bury her head in d sand like an ostrich. Ignoring all the happenings around her
Intelligent but slightly evasive....well that is typical of the average smart Nigerian!
This minister has represented nigeria well that was smart n'intelligent
Kudos to Okonjo Iweala she stood her ground and laid down her points with facts, if only all our govt officials were this adept and passionate about their jobs we would have less of the bad publicity focus.
The Alams questıon about pardonıng a rougue, madam no answer that one ooand thank God d Anapour babe no do am lıke the Oga ontop, she shouls have repeated the questıon
“99% of 9jarians re honest” I disagree wit her on dat d only person I know dat is honest in dis God 4saken country is ME.
Eyahhhhh, see how she's seriously defending our country...its well...
But jonathan dey lie sha.cnt c any improvement in the power sector o.evryday dey kip talkin of maintenance yet ders no change....abegi.luv okonjo iweala tho.that woman dey represent.
What a fucking farce. CA took it very easy on her. She did not answer any question directly. Bloody clowns her and her president and their entire cabinet. 2015 vote wisely!
This woman is smart...smarter than the dumb-ass Luck
Very good interview, Iweala is a very intelligent woman. Much as i know there is a deep rooted corruption in our nation, americans should stop pointing fingers and deal with their own issues. No nation is without challenges. I like the way madam gave it to Christiane!!!
Dts a woman dt can not b intimidated, she has her facts right.GEJ take note.Linda berra post ds
I LOVE THIS WOMAN....I have hope anytime she talks about electricity and economical growth.you thieves in government kidnapping her family for fighting you.wait we too are coming for.Good will always win evil.NGOZI WE GOTCHA BACK.NIGERIA SUPPORTS HOW IRRITATED YOU ARE TO THE FOOLS IN GOVERNMENT....NEVER GET TIRED.WE HAVE YOUR BACK MADAM.WE LOVE YOU.WE LOVE FASHOLA...YOU BOTH ARE OURS...WE LOVE YOU MADAM.WE LOVE YOU...................
only God will deliver nigeria. we all need amnesty in dis country
But come to think about it dis woman really try defending d image of 9jaria by lying.
I think christian let her off easily, even the presidential pardon, she talked her way out of it by mentioning her book. Instead of saying things as it is, she told stories abt other countries. Well, one thing I knw for sure is dat I won't read d book. Linda I've bn following ur blog ur blog since 2010. Am nt going to rant abt nt posting my comments but God help u the day I'll catch u
Nice comments as usual but she lost me with the artful dodging of the question on Alams pardon and the silly defence of Goodluck. And I agree with the people, 6.5% growth indeed, growth of what and how does it translate to food.
i am dissappointed in Okonjo for once. I think she is being defensive instead of admitting that we have a major problem in nigeria.
well that's the difference between the schooled and the unschooled...lips sealed
she answered most questions brilliantly but who be the people wey dey take d survey?i'm sure they just make numbers up.God help Nigeria.
Rubbish!!!, i thought she was really intelligent..
Hmmm...women in power buh it stil our leaders dat hv d problem
At least she knows what she is saying, better than the president
Perfect! she's just too brilliant to be an ordinary finance minister, wouldn't mind her being the next president.
My mummy has spoken. We need more compatriots like her #IStillBelivInNigeria. God bless Nigeria
Let her go and sit down jo.
Okonjo Iweala for President
99.9 percent ar hardworking and honest? all nigerians can testify that electricity has improved. see mature ppl lying like children. shameeeeeeeeeeee
I am disappointed in the reasoning and logic of our so called leaders. Talk of corruption, they say "Oh there is corruption everywhere so why tackle it" talk of power failure they say" oH every country has power problem". This is sick logic. Do you because your neighbour has malaria you decide not to get treatment?
Linda, so you want youtube to chop the money weh dey my phone?????lol Nne hapu ihe anwa...tell us the gist in write up and picture
Too diplomatic and evasive for my liking! She dint answer a single question...bunch of deceitful fakes
Good representative tho!
Excellent interview! I can honestly say that this is the first time I have truly understood the challenges faced by the GEJ presidency. If only the president himself could be this clear and concise about his plans for the country and start working towards implementing changes and making things right, maybe then the average Nigerian would be less despondent.
I just love this woman, she did not let Amanpour intimidate her
she really didnt answer the question about the govenor who was released after thieving 50million dollars, she just went around it,the govenor is corrupt,so makes no sense her saying goodluck did it for the good, common sense isnt common.they all just thieves.ACE
she just went there to do propaganda o jare.. she tactically failed to answer critical questions.. hehe shes just crafty! in a smart way i must say... regardless dis amanpour woman should leave us alone and face her own government and their issues! they got unemployment issues and d rest too!
Ngozi is just an intelligent woman. she can cover the truth well well. na so. dey will keep working to try and get it right until God's kingdom come. stupid pple. No b cause sha, Naija will not get there. stupid corrupt pple.... where are d 99.9% honest hardworking nigerians?? u mean 99.9 dishonest nigerians
Ngozi i love you i love Nigeri!!! God bless Nigeria. Intelligent woman
linda, thanks for this piece, at least it shows that you are not always doing gbeborun and aproko business
She did not answer the question on the president pardoning that criminal. No definite answers to questions, she keeps saying "we are not the only country, we are not the only country"Very annoying.
i totally agree with her statement to some extent. Process has to be restructured in Nigeria in order to get it right.
Each time I watch NOI speak, I can't help but believe and admire her.She speaks thoughtfully and with such passion and sincerity of purpose.Unlike the typical Naija politician who will refuse to admit failure and who seems to never have a thought-through approach to resolving issues, she does. The woman will even do a much better job handling GEJ's image than Abati and Okupe combined are making a mess of!!!
Its so disappointing that she cld not even answer the question on corruption, cos she is part of it. wat a shame. she is rather defending.
i agree with her to some extent. Process and procedures needs to be re address in order to get things right.
Hmmmm, am loving this Ngozi okonjo iweala. She is smoking hot. Christiana Amanpour is in hot seat. Hehehe.
i have to say, Okonjo- Iweala is one smart woman
Linda pls post thisThis woman is just a well educated selfish woman....her salary and allowance can pay so many peoples annual salaries....she herself and her way of lif is a waste....she and her boss do not have any idea how nigerians are suffering...Goodluck know that he may not win his next election!!!that is why he sent his finance madam to amend his blunders in CNN...Do you know that GEJ banned a documentary about corruption? he is has not been placed on security watch. And he has began to receive death notes...because he and nigerians told the truththe documentary is called fueling povertyby ishaya bakohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVq10BwzQoI
She's lucky Amanpour isn't like Piers Morgan.
Hahahaha... Joke! She dodged the presidential pardon questn. Mtscheeew. They're nt serz. Thieves!!!
She didn't answer the alams question, smart woman. Nigeria will become great again.
I watched yestday, and I was stunned,I always thut dis woman was intelligent!!!.....she made me loose hope in Nigeria....GADAMIT!!!!
Guys i must tell you i have never seen anyone defend Nigeria like this before with fact and figures. Double respect ma'am.
Okonjo is a very intelligent woman and has used calculative means to evade the question . She sounds like she knows what she is talking about unlike oga GEJ that sounded like an uneducated clerk in a forsaken ministry.
First to comment........I respect this woman's intelligence shaa!!!
I am so pleased with her interview, and the fact that she defend Nigeria to the whole world. how i wish all Nigerians we learn how to cover up our shame to the world!! every country has his own issues and Nigeria is not an exception. don't depend on man, government, God is the only provider, call on him, because help come's from above!!!
I tire for Nigeria, can there be a way forward in that country. And she is mentioning other nations , why? the topic is Nigeria, Libers pls pray for Nigeria.
Thank Mrs iweala 4 defending Ʊя̲̅ country right cos dez Americans are always looking for faults on others 2 pin dem down. I believe I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ Nigeria and believe one day we'l get dia.
OK Linda, i saw the interview on Tuesday night and i heard one of the best things i have ever heard as a Nigerian. The part where she said 99.9% of Nigerians are hardworking and the other part she said electricity is a general problem really made my day(Or maybe night) She was with Christiane for less that 20 mins, she hit the nail on the head and practically blew me away. #respect
She's jst too smart....she hw she dodged d alams pardon ish + d wat she ansad d question on power...damn!
Mama oni gele. Msm
Ok Linda. I watched it and it still would not stop corruption. All I see is a smart lady trying to out-smart her way from the truth. She can try as much as she may to use economic terms to make it seem like Nigeria knows what it is doing but Economists like me know this is all bullshit. You can't compare nigeria to other countries, because Nigeria in actual fact is far better. I say this because the now growing Chinese economy have lesser advantage than Nigeria but they are doing remarkable well. Forget oil: Nigeria has land and its green. What happened to agriculture? We can make shits loads of money off that. The land is full of water and is very fertile. Labour is also extremely cheap, irrespective of the minimum wage, a lot of before still get way below that. So why is Nigeria not growing? She talks of macro economic policies, which one? Is it steady economic growth? I don't see no growth. Growth in what sector? Is it stable inflation? Nigeria is way beyond hyper inflation. Is it import and export equilibrium? I see import surplus, I don't see any exports. Is it low unemployment? I see 90% unemployment rate and 5% employment to undeserving citizens I.e a fine art student working as a banker. Although with the level of educated people growing, a lot of youth are leaning towards entrepreneurship which is actually the one doing any adjustment at all to macro economic policies. As for fiscal policies (government spending + taxation), the only thing the government is spending on is feeding the already 11month old bellies of uneducated politicians with more contract money. I can go on and on but let me not bore you. I know how it could be being a woman just like ngozi amongst nigeria political wolves. All she's left with is defending. That defending speech is fooling no one, not even we Nigerians. No need appearing for interview it's a simply trick to patronize Nigeria into making us look more dumb than we already seem. This whole interview for me is wrapped up and sums just one word; SHAMBLES!
I have nothing but respect for you madam okonjo, you tackled the issues well, one way forward is to identify our problems which you have done and solving them will be a lot easier, you madam is one of a kind.
I really don't understand why anyone would commend her on this interview, its obvious that everything she said was all bollocks. 99.9% of Nigerian's citizens are honest is she leaving in mars or where. When 100% of government officials are corrupted, I think this current government actually think we nigerians are stupid and we don't know what is going on. If you don't have a plan for the country please just keep quiet and not lie to our faces come on. Jesus 2013 we still don't have electricity and you open your mouth and tell me there is growth in nigeria, its high time you resign as you have lost touch with economics.
Same old story. All of una na thief!!! First to comment
She is so intelligent...I love her
Ohhh Lord of mercy!!!!!, this is one of those days am proud to be Nigerian. Btw Goodluck should shut the fuck up.
SHE HAS SEEN A GURU ANSWERING HER QUESTION. WE WILL GET BETTER SOON. NICE ONE MY MINISTER.
Lol... Politicians sha! Look how she take style dodge the Alamieyeseigha question.
Wow!!!! This woman is very articulate&believable, sad to say this but far and way better at her delivery than even our dear president Gej.But quick question madame Ngozi, how much time are we talking about?or looking at?Zurielle's Opinion
don't care what anyone thinks or say.... Okonjo made me proud....
i felt she did well
Well I must say, she's really blessed with sound Intellect. I love how she attacked every question fervently with passion nd boldness. Mummy Ngozi(in Christiane Amanpour's accent) I wnt to be lyk u. Thts one confident Mama, Who's proud of her corrupted infested country..And as for the drunk called "Jorna" I ve gat four words for u "Mercy For Your Soul" smh!!...Miss Eno...
See her face lyk excreter
Okonjo-iweala for president!!!
Aint notin sexier dan an intelligent woman. Hv always had respect 4 mrs Iweala even though she serves a lazy govt. That respect just skyrocketted!
Will NOI think she was smart in avoiding the Alams question??? i would say she is so so dumb to think she got Christiane and all of us fooled.I wonder why they keep coming to the press to deceive the whole world. Its so amazing how theses govt officials go abroad and see how things work and can not come home to make things work. 20% functionality of our infrastructure will make a whole lot of difference in our nation and positively affect lives.
I do not live in Nigeria but I think the electrcity has improved due to feedback from family and friends. Change takes time therefore the damage that has been done previously has to be rectified. What the president sees is not what the grassroots see. The people at the top might have released the funds to improve the services yet people are not seeing any change because someone in the middle has intercepted the funds or given the contract to their friend who would do a shady job. This improvement everyone wants to see might not filter down to everyone till the next few years.
Its a big shame Mr president dat months after ur interview abt power in our country, there ws a black out wen u were renderin ur speech.(Na God catch u) n Ngozi pls u guyz shud quit 'we will still create job' n create d damn jobs instead of grantin Amnesty 2 terrorists. Cos if Amnesty is now wot govt lik granting den u guys shud b ready cos mor people ar still cuming up if u pple dnt tackle d main probs in dis country. Imagine d look on Christiane's face wen she said our Govt is gud @ unfulfilled promises.
she's brilliant. I actually really respect her. V intelligent and articulate
See deflection. She didn't answer a single question. Nigeria Rise Up!
This woman is a class act, see how she diverted the question of Alam to another debacle. Okonjo lole se! Mama niyen!
This is actually good, loved the way she defended nigeria, but we still need change and the right people in government
I am not at all familiar with our finance minister to be honest I was expecting another 'nscdc interview' so i said a little prayer and watched the video. I am pleased that she is very inspirational and informed. I think it does our country justice to have educated and informed leaders, people that actually know -can I just say not impressed with our president's ability to relay information, from the short clip in this video, it lacks substance 'talking but not really saying anything' makes it look like he doesn't know what's going on or he's trying to conjure a report that makes it seem like things are going alright.
Dodged the Alams question!!! U madam are turning into them!
that white woman is so rude,i dont like her
Wow!!Just wow!! Ngozi obviously was the best candidate for that interview..We need more people like this...
yea I agree, the govt has to leave power alone, this is just ridiculous.. I beg to differ that 99.9% of Nigerians are honest, let's call a spade a spade men.....
Amanpour has a way of catching pple.....lol........and Okonjo did not address the Alamesiegha or whateva's pardon
wowoooo. THIS IS OUR IRON LADY. LOVE HER, LOVE HER. NGOZI FOR PRESIDENT SUPPORT HER PEOPLE!!! LINDA POST MY COMMENT OOO.
She was asked about the despicable act Presido did concerning Alams and she danced out of that one talking generally. She was asked about GEJ's comment on Power again, she answered what she chose to.Indeed NOI is a wise woman. U can't bite the hand that feeds you. Lool! And talk ill about your country on CNN a news channel that already believes your one of the worst countries in the world.
Same old yap yapGive us power, roads & healthcare Is that too much to ask?Billions going amiss daily...,,
Rubbish! Defending the undefendable
Yes has a lot of facts at her finger tips. Good job
This is good, love the way she defends nigeria, tho we need help and we need the right people in power, nice work linda
Naija guys are all over the planet doing heavy time behind bars all in the name of no hope back home and there you sit your monkey ass talking of 99.9% being honest and shit..woman shut up.
This i want to bring to the world and also the stupid racist country calling themselves sun abi white or Afin. 99.9% of Nigerians are honest and hard working and all we want is for our govt to do the right thing ooooo. I laugh Amanpour' she herself couldn't break her but "the" we are still a poor country na lie, No nation is 1/3 up to our wealth,am sure she said that so as for us not to be recolonized again.. lol and i like that smile she gave after GEJ fooled himself,in all, this is how a subordinate is meant to act, defending your employer,i give her a hand. Hope president GEJ take a cue from her
I am not sure what to make of this interview... really. The improvement in power supply was an illusion. All Bart Nnaji did then was to go to Dieziani and ask that more gas be supplied, which was what pushed up the power supplied for the period. If the solution was a permanent one, why then do we keep having the power supply go up and down? if the problem has been resolved it should stay at the kilowats supplied, then further work will improve it. The gas wey dem supply then don finish.. power supply is back to its epileptic status.Dont know why our govt keep looking for short cuts to problem solving.... my pastor will say.. the longest way to success is through the short cut. that is why terrorism will not be resloved.. our government is taking the short cut approach.
...After son in law don collect I'm share. The way u guys now go after the dautas of the rich na wa o
you are very right, i doubt if this country will ever change for good.. God will save us
Ma, u really tried. U smart and pretty madam minister
Dear Ano 11:16AM, in dis life we all ve to b Diplomatic both in talking and reasioning. I think she gave a good reply Cos u dnt expect her to say what she cannot defend when she meets wth her boss ok. So my dear "let d sleeping dogs lie".
Okay People she lied that 99.9% of Nigerians are honest and she also evaded the question on Alams pardon, So What? Is the bad publicity on Nigeria not enough? She was only trying to make all of us that are criticizing her look good in the intl circle. That was an interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN not Channels or NTA, we should be applauding her for trying salvage our depriciating country as best she could
Okonjo-Iweala for PRESIDENT!
channels tv presenters should learn job ethics and professionalism from amanpour. even though aunty ngo evaded the question, she no chop am alive
U hit the nail on d head my brother.
Prince Charming are u minding our politicians? Liars! very crafty women, lying to the whole world about a lot of things.
Well done Madam Okonjo-Iweala. So so proud of you. You make me proud to be a Nigerian. Irrespective of what people say, Nigerians & non-Nigerians I believe that God is on our side and He is working things out. We still have people who are passionate about Nigeria. All we need is patience and more prayers. Nigeria go better!!
Did u watch n listen to d interview at all?u must be a foool
And I do not think she dodged the alameighsia's question, she rather got carried away addressing the main topic corruption, which I think carries more weight than the alameighsia issue (which is just another example of corruption) resulting in her missing out the question. If leaders approach with sound intellect and motivation that citizens do not encourage where do we stand. People like her should be encouraged and not brought down over little details. Is the answer to that question going to heal Nigeria??
She avoided the question regarding Alameiseigha's pardon...lol!
PC wot do ya expect, she is just covering up for the mess of a country
You all hailing NONSENSE!!!! Lets call a spade a spade. Nigeria is not a poor country.. if it was you all would not be owning all the huge mansions you have and riding in all those great cars! If we were a developing country in in need of funds... how come all you political leaders can afford to be flown abroad for medical care instead of fixing the ruins in our country.Mrs Ngozi is smart.. she is intelligent.. but unfortunately.. evading questions and covering up a shameful country is not smart.. it just proves that the road to recovery is pretty damn long!
NOI and RBF for 2015
I dont get u guys? U expect her to say rubbish abt nigeria on cnn? How patriotic re u guys mr pc and co? Yimu
All BS. I understand that she needs to back up her boss so I won't attack her. She cleverly side stepped the important questions - the Presidential Pardon issue and the Power issue. Oh well.Let us not allow our admiration of this lady to mask the pitfalls of GEJ's administration. His statement that was replayed is not entirely true. But U have to love politicians and the way they switch around facts to suit their needs
@exotic Eyez Mimi, it's sad that the only bright thing about you are your eyes (if that really is you). is it the image of Nigeria you should be worried about or the reality of it? is it not better for the international community to shine light on us and expose all our ulcers so our government have no where to hide any more and do something just because the seat is getting too hot. those of you that think Okonjo-iweala is intelligent, no offence, but y'all must be dumb f**ks. the intelligent thing to do would have been to reject the invitation to the interview because Amanpour has only exposed her for the corrupt and inept official she is. did she think she'd get only questions that would boost Nigeria's image? if she wasnt ready to answer hard hitting questions then why attend the interview at all? Did she not realise that this is not Nigerian media that only broadcasts what has been approved "at the top"? Did she not realise that Amanpour is a career journalist, and world acclained because she knows her job?whay did Okonjo-Iweala choose to go and disgrace herself like that, reeling out lies like a gaddem lie-vending machine. It's not only Nigerians watching, who you think you can spew lies to and life would go on! the world is watching this time and the lies are so transparent and unintelligent. how can you say an independent body carried out a survey on the situation of electricity in Nigeria and 54% said it has improved when Amanpour just showed you a bloody video of the mooron president's speech on easter and NEPA took light?! if they cannot keep electricity for the few minutes the bloody president of the country is giving a speech, how can you say the situation has improved? FROM WHAT?!!! Msheeeew! SHIOR!!!
This is what our media, both print and electronic, ought to be doing, bringing out the shortcomings of our corrupt leaders. Thank u Amanpour! how can naija grow when she can't tackle corruption herself, the only times corrupt leaders are tried and jailed for real it's done by foreign countries. common electricity naija can't even boast off, comparing naija to China. China don't have half the resources naija has yet she is the 2nd largest economy in the world, u can imagine where they will be if they have the resources naija has. Linda thank u for the little u r doing with ur blog, more grease to ur elbows. we all need to rise up to better our country, we need to stop celebrating greed, unfounded wealth and corrupt leaders.
I adore her.....she tactfully avoided the pardon question
@FLO i give it you jare you made far more sense than most here. Even Linda who posted it am sure didn't listen to the underlining answers NOT GIVEN.Articulate, smart, crisp and fact filled these are a few quality i praise about Ngozi but she's equally just as corrupt, twisted and manipulative other qualities she also possesses, like her oga at the top. Bottom line these BASTARDS don't give a hoot about us.Lies, lies lies that's all they have to offer, Christian Amanpour knows this that's why she keeps bringing them to her show to mess them up.
ALot of people here saying she's smart, smart at what? being evasive and lieing? And then you wonder why is stagnant. We're so much in awe of our so called leaders that we don't know the extent to which we're being misgoverned.I'm sorry to say, at this rate, there is no HOPE!
Bold faced liar
They're all fooling themselves next plz.
Crappy Shit! Crappy Response.....I feel so sorry for anyone who pegs his hope on this failed government.
Crappy Shit! Crappy Respone.....i feel so sorry for anyone pegging his hope on this government.
Spoke like a true errand girl.
Oh please STFU Ngozi, you and GEJ are so corrupt,I weep for Nigeria,Who told you that South Africa faces power problem...lairs we have in govt
Anonymous3:20 are u well? We are talking about her saying the truth and not rubbish. How would such a politicician work well when she lies so good? She literally said there are no corrupt people in nigeria.
Pc,upon all ur big grammar, being diplomatic and patriotic is not in ur vocabulary? So,u want her to go on cnn and talk trash abt nigeria all in d name of honesty and leave our image more damaged and hopeless in d eyes of oda countries? Really? U just knw how to write grammar but wen it comes to native intelligence,ur head is totally empty. Sad
.....This Woman is SOUND!Feeling you... all questions duly answered...I'm impressed..>>>Make una do the work jare! all fake indices quoted...artful dodging
I like the profesionalism in the interview, cristeine noticed okonjo was not interested in the pardon question, and she didnt press like the channels guys on the 'Oga at the top' issue. nice 1
she keeps comparing Nigeria to other nations. You cant compare to India or SA. These nations dont have oil like us but they have improvised and are doing better than us. All we need in Nigeria is better leadership and things will fall into place almost over night. We need young educated people not palm wine tappers and un exposed people like Good luck .
I must commend this woman's eloquence and "supposed brilliance" while I condemn the presidents response, he sounded not too smart. Madam O and the rest should remember that there's another life because they may all suffer for putting many through hardship.
Ngozi always makes sense and she's one of the few reasons I still believe in this administration. That being said, most people have no idea how it feels when you live outside the country and when you say you are from Nigeria, the "oyinbo" man looks at you as being corrupt. I loved the way the answered the Alams question. She is not the president, if you have a bone to pick about Alams pardon, ask the president. Also, Amanpour has become very subjective. When she talks about Nigeria, she's always happy showing off the bad sides. She was itching to ask Ngozi about Alams and wasnt even listening when she was talking about growth.Great job NGI.
Ever heard of national bureau of statistics? Http:/www.nigeriastat.gov.ng. Stop showing ur ignorance. Go to the site and get d data u need partaining naija statistics. Thank me later.
Na u be fool if u didnt notice how she tried to save our image. Anu ofia. Rie nsi
Macro or microeconomics cannot work in a country like that until firstly, people are hired for their abilities and there are clear accountabilities through measuring of performances and behaviour as well as encouraging the nation on the benefits of savings and investments and not spending frivolously on non assets. For these to happen, the whole country needs to be re-educated on the importance of planning in the short, medium and long term.
Shut up mumu. Defending her country from d international eyes is d most noble thing she did which nigerians lack so dont come here and write long letter wen u re very empty in d clever department. Ode much
