Woman asks for divorce after husband connives with doctor to have her womb removed without her consent

A woman has accused her husband of working in lieu with doctors to have her womb removed without her consent. Kafilat revealed this on Thursday while appealing to an Ibadan Customary Court to dissolve her five-year marriage to Musiliu. According to her, her womb was removed while she was undergoing a caesarean section for the delivery of her first child and she had no idea about it until recently.

Landlord kills physically challenged tenant for not flushing toilet in Ghana

A Ghanaian landlord has killed his physically-challenged tenant at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region. The landlord, identified as Mr Oppong was reported to have confronted the tenant, Nana Konadu simply because she failed to flush the household toilet after use. According to Accra's Rainbow radio, the landlord out of anger during the confrontation, hit Nana Konadu's head with a metal object. After the incident, Nana complained of pains and was admitted to a hospital where she died three days after the attack. Doctors confirmed she died of blunt force trauma.

Eugene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, dies at 82

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)  on Monday confirmed on Twitter that retired astronaut, Eugene Cernan, who was the last man to set foot on the moon has died at the age of 82.
'We are saddened by the loss of retired NASA astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon'.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that Lithuanian prisoner should be given access to the internet. It comes after a Lithuanian man in jail was 'unfairly' denied access to the internet in the prison.

Kenyan government warns alcohol traders to stop withholding debtors ID cards

The Kenyan government has given a strict warning to bar owners at the Kirinyaga County after it emerged that they were withholding nearly 20,000 identification cards which belonged to debtors. According to Kenyan Media, residents of the county had complained about the low turn up of voter registration, citing that some of the addicted drinkers would not be able to register as voters since their identification cards had been seized.

Bomb at Rann: International Red Cross confirms death of 6 Nigerian workers in the accidental military air strike

Nigerian Air Force fighter jet on a mission against Boko Haram terrorists mistakenly bombed Rann, Kala-Balge Local Government Area of Borno State, killing at least 64 civilians including 10 humanitarian Aid workers. The International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed death of six workers in the tragic incident on Tuesday.

President Buhari regrets accidental bombing, condoles with families of the dead

President Buhari has received with deep sadness and regret, the accidental bombing of a civilian community in Rann, Borno State, by the Nigerian Air Force, engaged in the final phase of mopping up insurgents in the North-east.

At least 120 people were wounded and 52 killed in the aerial bombing including ten humanitarian Aid workers with Red Cross and MSF International.

Nigerian military jet accidentally kills over 50 civilians & humanitarian aid workers in Borno settlement

The Nigerian military on Tuesday said a fighter jet accidentally shot some civilians and humanitarian aid workers during an operation in Kala Balge, Borno State.

The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen. Lucky Irabor, who disclosed this during a press briefing on Tuesday in Maiduguri, said soldiers got information of movement of Boko Haram members and deployed ground troops and air cover to tackle the terrorists.

The gunman suspected of killing 39 people during a New Year’s attack on an Istanbul nightclub has been caught in a police operation, Turkish media reports on Tuesday.

A video shared on Facebook by Ada Mbaeri, the sister of slain US Army Veteran, Chuks Okebata, showing the deceased and his wife engaged in an altercation has gone viral.

US-based Chuks Okebata was abducted and assassinated in broad daylight in Lagos on the 12th of January 2017 while he was home for the Christmas, New Year holiday (Read here ).

Chairman of the Kaduna State Football Association, Abdulkadir Magaji, dies at 52

The Chairman of the Kaduna state and the Independent Vice Chairman of the Nigeria National League, Abdulkadir Magaji, has died. He died today at a hospital in Lagos after a prolonged battle with Cancer.

NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, who confirmed his death, said the remains of the late football manager would be flown from Lagos to Kaduna where it would be buried according to Islamic rites at his hometown in Shika, Zaria later today. May his soul rest in peace Amen.

Barely three weeks after a 400 Level Science Education student of the Osun State University, (UNIOSUN) Osogbo, Adebisi Rofiat Damilola was found dead five days after she went missing (read here), another student of the institution, 300-level student of the department of Civil Engineering, Kazeem Amodu Ige pictured above, was killed in a fight that erupted between some students of the school at their hostel in the school premises at Oke-Baale area of Osogbo, capital of Osun State yesterday January 16th.
